Always Comforting to know:

A message from BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOL
BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOLMessage sent - 11/12/200811-12-08 bomb threat

Good afternoon. This is Kim McLaren at Berkeley High School. This morning Berkeley High received a bomb threat. The school was evacuated for a little over four hours. We worked with the local police departments to ensure the school was secure before letting students back in for the remainder of the school day. All students were provided the opportunity to get lunch. We are proud of the manner in which students conducted themselves during this incident and look forward to a strong learning environment for the remainder of the week.

PaulPaul actually called me from the school during this period several times. Four hours seems a little long, but better to be safe.

What a scary day! We had a bomb threat at my elementary school last year. Fortunately, it was near the end of the day so the kids weren't greatly affected. But we did evacuate for quite a while.

Just a few weeks ago, we had an armed robbery near our school so we were put on lockdown while the police looked for the suspects. No fun there either!!

And I teach in an uppity part of the county. Not the city. You just never know.

I am glad everything turned out fine today. Very glad.
