Destinee Goes Home

For those that have been reading awhile, you may remember my cousin Destinee. She has been with my parents for the better part of the last two years. Her parents are young, divorcing, etc, etc, etc. I'll spare you the details and my opinions of people who don't put their kids first. I had a great childhood, and personally I think that should be every child's right. Once you give birth, your life becomes second, well, I gave you my opinion anyway.

Well her dad came and got her, which broke my parents heart. This just confirms why we did not adopt here in the US, not that she was up for adoption. I truly hope things work out for her and her two brothers.

Destinee loves Grace, and every time we went to my moms, she would come running, Gracie, Hey Gracie.

We'll miss her

Look at those ears!!!!

Grace had finally decided she wanted her ears pierced! I was so happy to oblige her. So after work, we went to see the Easter Bunny (I'll scan those later) and afterwards we went to get her ears done.

She is so excited! They cleaned her ears, and marked the spot. So far so good.

She was such a brave little girl. We lucked out, there were two girls working, so we got both ears done at the same time. She started to cry for just a second, then she was fine. She loves them. I was so worried, but it all turned out fine.


She looks so sad here, but that only lasted a few seconds.

Ouch, they look really red here. We have to clean them three times a day. After 6 weeks she can change them to something else.

School

Grace was accepted!!!!! Thanks for all those prayers. She will attend Cathedral Academy in August. We are putting her in K4, everyone feels that will give her a good solid ground. I think she would be OK in K5, but shes only been home a year, and is still learning.

Go Generals!

Did I say how excited she is. She had to go take an assessment test and she really liked it. The teachers and principle were all so nice. We were unsure they were going to take her because of her eyes. They even had to talk to the doctors office. She may need a little extra time for things, but I really think she will be OK!

I've been so stressed about her going to school If we had only known we were going to adopt, we would have stayed at our old house. But I have to believe that God has me where I'm suppose to be!

Derby Time

At time of this post there are 25 day 20 hours and 13 minutes until the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby! I'll be watching from home again, but still holding out hope to one day attend this gala event. If I had my choice of any sporting event to attend, this would be it. But I want to sit with the owners PLEASE, I want to attend the parties and be a part of it all, which is really unlike me.

Maybe one day, I'll have a nice Derby Party and all the ladies will be required to dress accordingly. Here are two hats I've picked out!

First Flowertown Festival

Saturday, Grace went to her first Flowertowne Festival in Summerville. This is a tradition that Bonny and I do every year. I missed last year since we were in China. We were there ALL day. By the time they added rides our little ones were too big, so this year we hit the ride section. Grace really liked it, so she should enjoy the fair in the fall.

Bonnys brother, Dennis won the barbecue contest this year. My dear sweet bon could be heard above all else with the squels. Bless her heart !!!!!!!! I do love my Craven family.

Now its a shame we cant all ride this way!

Prom Night for Berkeley High : I roll like that!

Those were the words out my baby boys mouth when I told him to take his glasses and hat off. Can you see the vest? Can you really see it?
Yes, its Camo! He was determined to find a tux with a camo vest! I tried to talk him out of it, no such luck.

This is Becky, she is so sweet, they dated their Freshman year and have been friends ever since. So it was really nice and fitting that they went to the prom together.

Try explaining to a four year old why she cant go to the party! And she wanted to know where her flowers were! Here is her PaulPaul giving another girl flowers, she was happy about that. (OOPS that was suppose to say she was NOT happy)
