Meeting with a dear freind

about five years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Sara, another mom in our LID group.  Her family vacations in MB each year, so we met near by.  It has become a yearly tradition that I look forward to.



they have grown so much since our first meeting with the kids. 



We didnt get very many pictures this time, and I just realized we didnt get any of me and Sara..... But as aways it was worth the drive to Georgetown and a wonderful afternoon.  The world of adoption has bought so many great people into our lives.

Chelsea and Paul

Chelsea and Paul also live in Charleston, and they also have a daughter from Tianjin, China. 
Well this week, they traveled back to Tianjin, China for thier son.  I am so happy for you guys.   They also got to meet his foster family, which I think is truly a gift.   I cant wait to see the pictures of the little guy with his siters and brothers.  Safe travels home.   Click on their name to visit their blog.


Also, Good luck and safe travels another local family.  Penny and her husband Shannon are adopting thier second child from China.  Penny will be staying home with her two kids, (pray for her, I know she is on pins and needles).  Her husband Shannon (what an awesome dad) and his father are going to make the trip and bring Samuel Home.  I pray for a safe trip for them.  Click HERE to follow thier journey.

My Dear Friend

As you all know I've met some great people through our adoption of Miss Grace (who almost caused me to choke her this morning but that's another story).  Most of these people I have not met in person, but there are a few I have.  One particular person I've met and am so happy to call a friend is Penny.  Her and her family live here.  She has one bio son and has been to China (not too long after us) for their beautiful daughter Norah, who I've only had the pleasure of meeting once.  She is a beauty. 

Well, this wonderful family is going back again, this time for a son.  He is about the cutest thing, click HERE to visit their website.   As we all know adoption AIN'T cheap!  We all do what we have to do to bring our kids home.  At the right of my blog is a picture of Samuel, if you click on it, it will take you to a site, Sweets for Samuel.  This is a fundraiser to help bring this little man home.  We all love sweets, so what would be a better way to help out.

Penny, I am so thrilled for you and your family and can not wait to follow along on your next journey.

Congratulations my friend

I have met so many wonderful people on this journey God put us on. I have made life long friends that I sit in awe of. I must say I admire so many of these wonderful people that have adopted not only once but two and three times, and some many more than that.

One of those families is the Gour Family from Charleston. Chelsea is an amazing Christian woman, they traveled not long after us to Tianjin to bring their daughter Claire (who is as cute as she can be) home, I just found out, they are the proud parents of a handsome little boy.

Congratulations, I'm praying that the paper chase goes quickly and that you can bring that sweetie home very quickly.

Bring Harper Home

This is unbearable. This family traveled to China to bring their daughter home and had to leave her because a new rule in effect as of July 1. Please go here and read their story.

My heart just aches for this little girl. There is a link on the webpage that is 17 minutes long with the heart wrenching good bye. There is also a link for you to go and sign a petition regarding this new rule change.

If you know of anyone that can help get this little girl home, please forward this to them.

Please pray that that this family gets to bring this child home SOON!

Happy Chinese New Year/School/PaulPaul

Yes I know this has already passed. We took Grace to the local FCC (Families with Chinese Children) Chinese New Year Celebration last week (At least I think it was last week).

It was held at a local Chinese Restaurant. I did finally get to meet Chelsea and Anne who also have adopted. It was so nice talking to them. I recognized Chelsea and her crew immediately. Those kids are just as cute as they are in their pictures. Claire is doing so well walking.

I loved seeing all the little girls there from China, they were all so beautiful. Paul asked me if I had plans to go back for a sister for Grace. UH NO! I don't think we could afford another one. We can and will take her back when she is older, but adopt another one, I don't think I have the strenght or health for it.

When we told Grace we were going, her first question was "Are you going to leave me" so that tells you, my sweet little girl does still have concerns over being left again. Poor Baby. Once I assured her again, that she was stuck with me and her Daddy, that this is her home FOREVER and EVER, she seemed ok, she then wanted to know if she were going to school. No Baby, not yet.

However once we got there, she would not sit at the craft table. Here is a picture, so you can get the generally feel she thought about being there.

We did win a door prize. They were waffle sticks. And they were very good.

Grace was asleep on the way out the door, they even gave all the kids a red envelope with a dollar which is a tradition in China for the new year.

School Note
I did finally talk to the school, they will be doing testing the first couple of weeks in March. So please pray that Grace gets in. She is good with the Capital letters but not the lower case. She can count but does not recognize all of the numbers. Work to be done over the next two weeks.

Do you ever wonder what your kids are doing when you are not around. Well I downloaded my pics from the camera (oh and FYI, I have pics of mclaurns party on my camera, the stooge that I am didn't have my card in the camera so they are on the hard drive and I cant locate the cord, it was a DUH moment!!) sorry back to Paul Paul. I downloaded the pics and look here!

My First Award

Teresa at Continuing the Journey is a working mom to three kids. A teenager daughter with a full dance schedule and just learning to drive. A son, "Carson" who those close to me know by name, is from China and is all boy and oh soooo cute. I have to keep up with little guy. And if those two weren't enough to keep her busy enough, they are currently in the process of adopting another one from China, this time a beautiful little girl. I can not wait to follow that journey.

Penny at Sharp Family Tales another working mother of two. Elias, her handsome little boy and Norah, her two year old from China. I met Penny online about a year or so ago, she lives close by.

Denise at Theres always room for one more. As you can tell by her title, she has her hands full. I found Denises blog through Penny. They traveled at the same together and I have been hooked ever sense. You can always count on her for a good laugh. Many of times I have found myself laughing out loud. She has six kids! Seriously, she is a remarkable soul, you have to stop by.

Meggie, The Teenager at The World According to Meggie is the teenage daughter of Teresa at Continuing the Journey. She is not your typical teenager. She is an amazing young woman and her two siblings are lucky to have her. Meggie, I'm looking forward to following you off to college.

Chelsea over at Gour Family Adventures is the busy mother of five. One in college, a set of twin boys, and two little girls, the youngest is from China. They also live locally, we haven't met yet, but I'm hoping that we can meet them soon.

Patricia over at Little Cabin in the Woods is a homeschooling mother of six. Three boys (grown) and three beautiful little girls from China. She is an amazing woman of God, and I aways come away with a sense of peace after visiting her blog. She and I were in the same LID group.

Donna at Handsful is another homeschooling mom. She has five kids, one of which is from China. She was also in my LID group.

Carrie at Adopting Again is another homeschooling mom. She is an amazing woman who is currently in the process of adopting her second child from China. I hope to meet her one day.

I would love to meet all of my blogging buddies, you have all come to mean so much to me.

Help for 'The Teenager

'Yes, I snuck onto my moms blog again.... but this is for a good cause! Art class is required at my school in order to graduate, which gave my mother the bright idea to sign me up for it this year, while I wasn't home. Getting to the point, my class has their BIGGEST project ever coming up! It is called an instillation project, they're very hard to describe, but amazing to look at! This is where I need all you parents to help me! We are to base our project off of a statistic of our choice, and mine is about how many children are adopted from China each year. Now, this project will be up in my school for all to see, it should be about the size of a whole wall, possibly smaller. My idea was to get as many photos of children who have been adopted from China, and to put all their photos inside a large picture of China. If you all would be ever so kind as to send me a picture of your child who has been adopted, I would be so grateful. If you have more than one adopted, the more the merrier! (= If you could e-mail any friends of yours, tell others about it, e-mail your Yahoo groups, etc. I would be so thankful! Remember it will be out in my school, and need your permission. Misreablely over weight!!!!

Teresa over at "Continuing the Journey" posted a challenge to loose weight with her. She is returning to China for her second adoption, and during the wait is going to loose weight.



Well I've accepted her challenge and am going to try. I have so reached the point of just plain miserable. My clothes don't fit, I don't feel well, and in general, very BLAH!



I'm certainly not going to cut everything out cold turkey, cause you know I love my Pepsi!!!



I would like to loose weight before PaulPauls graduation and Brandon's wedding. Wow, that makes my head spin, so much in the future. Lets not forget Grace will start some kind of preschool in January and then kindergarten in August.

So I'm off to the scale, if it doesn't break, we can get started. Anybody else want to join in????
